Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt Israeli-Palestinian negotiations broke an 8 month deadlock in the Mideast peace process.

Madeleine K Albright: 'An Historic Opportunity' Albright's travels preceded the Saturday evening signing ceremony of a revised peace accord between Israel and the Palestinians in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat signed the new interim peace accord with Albright, Jordan's King Abdullah and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in attendance.
