Penicillin was the first naturally occurring antibiotic discovered by A.Fleming 1928- and the first to be used therapeutically for bacterial infections (Bactericide)1941. An antibiotic - (Greek anti, against and bio life) is any substance produced by a microorganism which can kill or inhibit the growth of a different microorganism.
